The Path To Getting Millions Of Downloads Of Your Mobile App

Sai is currently helping mobile apps get more downloads as co-founder of Trendify.

Have you developed a mobile app and want millions of people to download it? Application development can be complicated, and a marketing plan for a mobile app is entirely different, so you may be seeking some guidance.

Throughout my career, I've been able to help apps get millions of downloads. This is a culmination of the techniques I learned along the way. Embarking on the journey to millions of downloads requires a thorough understanding of the critical milestones: 10k, 100k, 500K and the much sought-after one million downloads.

Before We Get Started...

I came across this statistic: The top 0.1% of advertisers test 11 times more ad creative than everyone else. If you're wondering what an ad creative is, it is the video that gets shown to people after you start running it as an ad. The money is in the creative, and your job as a founder is to optimize it. Forget everything else. You don't need fancy influencers or investors who swear they'll "market your app for you."

We have clients who spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on one ad creative. The easiest way to scale your mobile app is through paid ads. And the easiest way to crack paid ads is to put all of your attention on the creative.

Now that we've established that, let's dive in.

10K Downloads

Here are the things you should do to get to 10k downloads:

• Find someone to create the ads (or create them yourself). Since the money is in the creative, you should have a set cadence for getting creatives produced. The easiest way to do this is to find someone who can make creatives for your app. If you have the time (and expertise), you can also do it yourself.

• Test a few different messaging techniques. You may think the elevator pitch you have memorized for your app is the perfect messaging for your ads. Unfortunately, there's a high likelihood that it isn't. This is why you should be creating different messaging for each creative. This is how you test effectively.

• Create at least 50 ad creatives.

100K Downloads

Once you crack 10k, it's just doing more of what is working. Don't get fancy. Stick to the script.

Creative Focus:

• Test around 100 creatives. Each creative needs to be different (different script, different visual, etc.). Start running each creative as an ad so you can identify which one is the winning creative.

• Get a mix of creators and develop unique content with different scenarios, scripts and faces. People enjoy seeing variety. There's no guarantee that one face, one script and one messaging format will resonate with everybody.

Trust Building:

• Do not buy reviews. Reputation is more important than anything else; don't sacrifice it for vanity metrics.

• Approach TikTok, Instagram, etc., as platforms for organic content to build trust among your ideal customer profiles. When people see your organic content, they are way more likely to download your app after seeing your ad because they've already built trust with your organic presence.

500K Downloads

Typically, at this point, marketing will be super automated. Focus more on the product and spend more time cranking volume on paid ads. You should have a money-printing machine by now.

Creative Intensity:

• Accelerate your creative efforts with 250 ad creatives for a robust presence.

• Strengthen organic initiatives for a more sustainable and engaged user base. Here's an example: One of our clients was able to get hundreds of thousands of followers on one account. We then had them create four more accounts with a variety of content to capture different audiences. This helped them engage more users.

1 Million Downloads

Ah, the much sought-after 1 million downloads. It sounds unrealistic, but trust me, you can get there!

Diversification:

• Create 250-500 ad creatives for various creative and effective marketing strategies.

• Expand channels. If you got here only with TikTok ads, start experimenting with other marketing channels, like Facebook.

Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs):

Create two ideal customer profiles to help tailor marketing strategies to suit the specialized audiences. To figure out your ICPs, survey your current best users. What age groups are they? What are their interests? Where are they from?

After doing this, find the similarities in their data. This is your first ICP. Do the process one more time and find a different set of similarities. This is your second ICP. Knowing this information is crucial for marketing so you can attract your ICP (people who are higher quality users than everyone else).

Conclusion

In a competitive mobile apps industry, winning millions of downloads is an arduous race to be fought for the trophy. Now you are armed with the strategies to make your app a standout and achieve unmatched success. Stick to the script; don't overcomplicate it. Simple scales, fancy fails. Get after it!

    Best Mobile Banking Apps FAQs

Most big banking institutions have apps you can download in the Apple or Google Play store. You'll create a username or password. If you've already used online banking on your web browser, the login information is probably the same. The app layout should be similar to the browser layout.

Most banking apps are free when you have an account with the bank. But keep in mind that the accounts themselves could come with some fees. Some banks charge monthly service fees, unless you qualify to waive them. You could also pay fees for overdraft fees, ATM fees, or foreign transaction fees.

At the very least, you should be able to use your banking app to check you account balances, transfer money between your own bank accounts, deposit paper checks with the app's camera, and find customer service contact information. The top banking apps have even more robust features, such as showing all of your financial information in one place, 24/7 live chat, or automatic savings tools.

Why You Should Trust Us: Experts' Advice on the Best Mobile Banking Apps

We consulted banking and financial planning experts to inform these picks and provide their advice on finding the best mobile banking app for your needs.

    Business Insider

Here's what they had to say about mobile banking apps. (Some text may be lightly edited for clarity.)

What should I look for in a mobile banking app?

Mykail James, MBA, certified financial education instructor, BoujieBudgets.Com:

"What kind of push notifications do they offer? Do they offer push notifications for when you swipe your card or if money is deposited into your account? Also, what's the customer support like? Do they have a 24/7 phone number available? Emails? Do they have a chat box?"

Sophia Acevedo, certified educator in personal finance, banking reporter, Business Insider:

"I think it's important for a mobile banking app to have mobile check deposit and features that help you understand your spending. Maybe there's a feature that can help you save for specific goals or track your cash flow."

What makes a strong mobile banking app?

    Sophia Acevedo, CEPF:

"I think strong mobile app should be as straightforward as possible. You should be able to easily navigate the app and utilize the features without running into any technical difficulties."

    Mykail James, MBA, CFEI:

"One thing that I love for banks to do is when they offer a virtual debit card or credit card. Sometimes I don't always have a physical card with me. "

Methodology: How We Chose the Best Mobile Banking Apps

To choose our favorite banking apps, we only looked at apps with at least 5,000 reviews in both the Apple and Google Play stores. Then we narrowed it down to apps with strong average ratings in both stores.

We selected apps for banks that are available in a large chunk of the United States. This could mean that a bank has branches in multiple states, or that it operates online.

Our top picks have competitive products that set them apart from other institutions. For example, a bank may pay high interest rates, have tools to help you save money, or offer early direct deposit. Where applicable, we also looked at customer satisfaction ratings on J.D. Power surveys.

The Best Sports Betting Apps In The USAMarch 2024

KnicksJulius Randle shoots a jumper for the Knicks in their loss to the Jazz on Monday night. AP Accessibility

A mobile app has become the newest and easiest way to bet. Having everything in your pocket – your wager, winnings, markets and promotions all in one place – is easier than ever. Times of having to go to a sportsbook to place your bets are gone.

    App-Only Offers and Promotions

There are a wealth of promotions available through online sports betting, with some of these promotions only available via the sportsbook app.

Our piece outlines which of the best mobile sportsbooks have app-only offers, so you should be sure to check out which apps offer these, as they can often be enticing incentives. If you can, doing your own research can also be helpful, as other customer reviews will enlighten you on which apps boast the best loyalty schemes.

    Notifications

Sports betting apps allow you to turn on notifications for the events you want to follow, giving you the chance to keep up to date with what's happening without having to open the app.

Perhaps one aspect that separates the best apps from the rest is that their notifications will be faster than others, making sure you're the first to know about that touchdown, home run, or goal.

Notifications can also be turned on for events you're not wagering on, with sports betting apps often boasting faster notification times than regular live sports scores apps.

    Safety and Security

Every sports betting app will have some form of security feature, in the form of a pin or password. Your mobile device itself will likely have your own password/Face ID/Touch ID. The security protection differs from app to app, with the range of security features normally found being:

  • Password Protections
  • Pin Code
  • ID Verification
  • Enhanced Security
  • 2-Factor Authentication
  • Security Questions
  • With many different variations of security controls, your money will always be safe and secure in your mobile sports betting account. If security is important to you, most sportsbooks will offer extra levels of security, which can be added to your app once you've created your account.

    Quick Transactions

All of the best betting apps will allow you to deposit and withdraw through different methods. With mobile apps, certain sportsbooks will accept Apple/Google Pay, meaning your deposits take only a few seconds, requiring touch/face ID, or your phone password.

The majority of mobile sports betting apps will also save your payment details, meaning the next time you wish to deposit, you won't have to worry about entering all your details in again.

    Mobile Live Streaming

One of the best aspects to come from online sports betting is the introduction of live streaming. This feature is also available through mobile apps, with most of the best sports betting apps offering this feature.

Remember, not every game will have live streaming, meaning you'll have to check whether or not the game you're wagering on has live streaming available.

An easy way to watch the game on the go, whilst having a flutter on the game itself.
