If you've narrowed down your options to a few Android VPNs but are struggling to pull the trigger, here are some things to look out for:

Speed: The security protocols VPNs usually mean a reduction in your Internet speed. It's no guarantee, but look for a VPN with a large number of servers and the option to choose the encryption protocol. That way if one server/protocol is being bogged down, you have some flexibility.
Data logging: Most well-known, trustworthy VPNs have no data logging policies, but if privacy is your number one concern you may want to look into the nitty-gritty details.
Google Play Store Rating: This rating is more important than you might think. A great desktop VPN doesn't necessarily translate into a great mobile VPN. A high rating means the app is less likely to crash on you and more likely to provide you high speeds.
Server Locations: If there's a specific country's internet you want to use, choose the VPN which has the most servers in that country. Otherwise, the safest choice is the VPN with the most servers in the most countries.
Netflix: I don't often watch Netflix on my mobile but from my experience on public transport, I know that Netflix is life for some of y'all. If that's the case, check to make your VPN of choice can bypass Netflix's IP detection software.
Features: Many VPNs advertise having features such as split tunneling and a kill switch, and fail to advertise these features aren't available on all devices. Check to make sure the features you want are actually available in their Android application.
Price: For the vast majority of VPNs, you will be looking dishing out between a couple dollars to ten dollars per month. If you only use a VPN occasionally, you might be able to get away with a free plan that has a data cap.
